Oral and written language consultation
An in-depth written synthesis of previous testing, past/current reading instruction, and observation of student performance in literacy
Specific recommendations about literacy instruction including frequency, content, methods of delivery, and curriculum pacing and direction
Optional participation at an IEP meeting to discuss findings from the consultation
Optional on-going consultation to school-based educators of children not making effective gains in oral and/or written language
Multi-sensory, systematic teaching of reading, spelling and oral language
Informal assessment of reading skills to inform instruction
Two or three 60 min individualized sessions per week
Monthly or bimonthly informal assessments to monitor progress
Reading material to practice at home between sessions
Instruction that is within the student's zone of proximal development to help him/her develop literacy skills with a feeling of success and confidence
